General introduction

 

  Printing and Dyeing and Chemistry Department ( formerly Dyeing and Weaving Department of National College of Leshan). It has a history of 70 years. Existing Dyeing and Finishing Technology, Polymer Materials, Environmental Monitoring and Management, Fine Chemicals, Biotechnology, Industrial Testing and Analysis, and an Institute of Dyeing and Printing. In which Dyeing and Finishing Technology is the national selected and provincial key major. "Introduction to Printing and Dyeing,” is the national superior course.


  This Department has 44 teaching staff members, including 3 professors(1 provincial distinguished teacher), 10 associate professors, 5 certified lab technicians, 12 lecturers, 7 assistant instructors. We have received the following honors: the provincial teaching team in 2007, the senior unit of Ministory of Education College Light Chemical Engineering Education Steering Committee Dyeing and Finishing Branch, Beside teaching, undertaking a great deal of task of scientific research and consultation service, achieving several “Science and Technology Advancement Prize” at the provincial or ministerial level, publishing more than 10 textbooks, releasing more than 60 papers at home and abroad, establishing exchange and cooperative relationship with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The University of Fukui ,JAPAN.


  At present, we have more than 10 training practice bases inside and outside the province, and build R & D center with enterprises to provide outstanding graduate talents to them for a long time.

 

Brief Introduction of Majors

  1. Dyeing and Finishing Engineering (undergraduate)
  Training Objectives:
  To cultivate the senior engineering application of talent with strong theory foundation and innovative ability, be able to use computers and advanced test equipment to engage in textile dyeing and finishing process design, quality control, production management and new product development, can be engage in specialized production, scientific research and management work.
  Main Courses:
  College English, Computer Introduction, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical theory,   fiber chemistry and physics, dyes chemical, printing and dyeing process equipment, textile finishing and the like.


  2. Dyeing and Finishing Technology
  Training Objectives:
  To foster highly-qualified applicative intellectuals who master the principles and knowledge of dyeing and finishing, to cultivate professionals who adapt to production, construction, management and service areas of printing and dying.

  3. Macromolecular Material Processing Technology
  Training Objectives:
  To cultivate highly-qualified applicative intellectuals who have scientific qualities, solid professional knowledge, theoretical knowledge and operative skills on polymer material process technology, to cultivate professionals who can master the Principles of Chemical Engineering, Polymer Physics, Polymer Chemistry, and the Processing Technology of Polymer Materials.

  4. Industrial Analysis and Inspection
  Teaching Objectives:
  To cultivate highly-qualified applicative intellectuals who have scientific qualities, solid professional knowledge, theoretical knowledge and operative skills on analysis and inspection of textile, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, food, materials, metallurgy, and construction materials and the inspection of water quality with the ability of maintaining analytical equipment.

  5. Environmental Inspection and Harnessing Technology
  Teaching Objectives:
  To foster highly-qualified applicative intellectuals who master the principles and knowledge of environmental protection and harnessing, the harnessing of three wastes and monitoring environment, and have the ability of production management and macro adjusting.

  6. Fine Chemical Engineering Technology

  To train high-level technically applied personnel with the basic knowledge of Chemical Engineering Principles, Polymer Chemistry, surfactant, and a good command of fine chemical synthesis, production process and operation of Fine Chemicals, and ability of developing of fine chemicals, process control and product inspection and products management.
